Established 2025 · Alor Pothe Sundor Jibon

To drive dignified, lasting change.

AlorPotheSundorJibon is a non-government, rights-based organization working alongside the most marginalized communities in Dhaka, — building self-reliance through education, health and sustainable livelihoods.

Our purpose

Filling the gaps where systems falter.

Why AlorPotheSundorJibon exists

Guiding statements, reaffirmed each year.

Our goal, vision and mission — set by our founders in 2003 and reaffirmed by the Executive Committee each year — address the systemic inequities that keep rural populations in cycles of poverty. We don't just provide aid; we build the infrastructure of hope.

01

Goal

Improve the living standard of disadvantaged and vulnerable men, women and children — including persons with disability and minorities — through need-based, sustainable development.

02

Deliver programmes that bring sustainable benefit to marginalised people irrespective of caste, creed, culture, ethnicity or religion — by empowering them and sensitising stakeholders, and standing beside them during disasters.

Where we go from here

Our future, community-first.

AlorPotheSundorJibon will continue its proven models, replicate completed projects into new geographies, and step into newer thematic areas — keeping disadvantaged women, children and persons with disability at the centre.

We will deepen our work in health and family planning, education, women's empowerment, human rights, agriculture and livestock, and women's leadership — through training, advocacy, networks and campaigns — towards a self-sustainable, democratic Bangladesh where human rights are firmly established.

  • Replicate proven models
  • Expand to new districts
  • Deepen women's leadership
  • Climate-resilient livelihoods

Our team
